Daniel, today you are three months old. As they say, it’s amazing how time flies. I absolutely love being your mommy. You’ve grown and changed so much in these past few months.
You’re so inquisitive about the world around you. In the past couple weeks, you’ve really started paying attention to what’s going on – whether watching the dogs move around, or following Daddy and I as we walk away, or even watching TV (you prefer football and cartoons, by the way smile ).
Everyone who meets you comments on how happy you are, and it’s true. You only cry for a few reasons – you’re hungry, sleepy or need a diaper change. Once those are taken care of, you are all smiles, cooing and talking up a storm. You eat really well, although, once in a while Daddy will feed you a bottle and you like to give him a hard time with that. wink
You have a few favorites. The activity mat is probably your most favorite at this point. You’ll lay there for 30 minutes waving your arms, making the star play music and talking to the toys. You love books, especially ones that have different textures that you can touch. And you have a bumble bee toy that crinkles and buzzes that you enjoy playing with.
When it comes to sleep, you’re quite the pro. You’ve always loved sleeping at night, so much that I was concerned at first. You slept six hours at night beginning at 4 weeks, and are currently up to ten hours at night. This past week, you’ve developed your morning nap – taking a two hour nap around 9am each morning. I love getting you from your crib after you’ve woken up, as you usually have a sweet smile for whomever may pick you up.
You don’t seem interested in rolling over any time soon, but you sure love to kick your legs and wave your arms. You’ve had strong neck muscles from the time you were born and hold your head up well. Daddy taught you how to use your thumb to hold on to things, and you love to hold on to our fingers. If we pull, you pull back and bring yourself into a sitting position.
I’m so excited for the coming months – all the changes you will make and the new things you’ll do and experience. Keep growing, baby boy. Momma loves you. XO
